Mayors explore Docklands

Some 20 mayors from China’s Shandong Province visited Docklands last month.

Hailing from China’s second largest province, which is home to 97 million people, the mayors explored various aspects of Docklands during their visit on September 24.

Docklands Chamber of Commerce president Joh Maxwell said the chamber hosted the group at the Library at the Dock, sharing some of the Docklands’ history through the library’s resources.

The group then enjoyed morning tea at Vin Tam Bakery before taking a ferry ride on MV Grower across to NewQuay for some shopping at Harbour Town.

The mayors then returned via ferry for lunch at Victoria Harbour restaurant Igg.

The group was visiting Australia as guests of the South Australian Government but also visited Victoria.

The mayors also met with Places Victoria and City of Melbourne representatives while in Melbourne.
