Free Sunday entertainment

02 Aug 2010

Free Sunday entertainment - Until Sunday, August 29 - 2pm to 5pm
Waterfront City Piazza - Free, presented by City of Melbourne

Catch some cool jazz, gypsy rhythm or tribal beats on Sunday afternoons in Waterfront City Piazza. The free live entertainment is sure to get your toes tapping while you check out the Sunday market or in between venues on your Slow Sundays restaurant trail.
Entertainment for August includes:

August 8 - Sparklies
Combining your favourite music, audience participation and non-stop laughs, the Sparklies will impress your guests with everything from their spin on “subtle background music” to daggy-disco classics.

August 15 - Sofa Nova
Sofa Nova performs the beautiful bossa nova songs of Brazil. They love the sensuous, seductive, swaying rhythms and smooth vocals of this music, giving the band a mod sound suited to the mid-1960s aesthetic.

August 22 - Tarantella
Tarantella performs the music of Italy covering a vast repertoire that ranges from the Tarantella of Calabria to the mountain songs of the north to the romance of Naples.

August 29 - Leo and Girish
Leo and Girish combine their cultures and talents. Garish plays north Indian classical tablas while Leo is expert in alto and soprano saxes and alto flute.
