Lend Lease is applying for planning permission to build an eight-storey building on the remaining land between its Serrata development and Geographe St.

The application is a further disappointment for Mosaic and Montage residents who wanted the whole area retained as open space, having earlier failed to halt the Serrata development.

Spokesperson Frank Ruggiero said residents were still considering a class action for damages against Lend Lease alleging they were misled about what was to be built there.

Mr Ruggiero said at a recent meeting residents asked Lend Lease to forego four town houses at the rear of the development and leave the area as public open space.

Project director Ellie Schwab said she listened to the residents’ concerns but Lend Lease would proceed with the application.

“We’re not the only decision makers in this,” she said.
