City of Melbourne Christmas marketing

City of Melbourne Christmas marketing

By Shane Wylie, media director at Docklands Chamber of Commerce

Melbourne is the Christmas capital of Australia and who doesn’t love the decorations and yuletide appeal of Docklands from late November through to December 25?

100 per cent – yes! That’s right, 100 per cent of businesses who participated in the City of Melbourne marketing campaign in 2016 said that they would do so again.

The marketing campaign aims to draw visitors to enjoy the unique festive experience our precinct offers and ultimately bring more business to you.

Applications to be part of the 2017 Christmas campaign opened on August 25 and close on September 7. You can also view the fact sheet and full details on our blog: http://www.docklandscc.com.au/blog/

Important dates:

Expressions of interest open: August 25 to September 7;

Christmas marketing campaign: November 13 to December 25; and

Christmas Festival: November 24 to December 25.

Two tickets to all of our network events, dinners and special occasions. We have between six and eight of these each year and feature our member businesses. The last event was completely reserved in two days and included a champagne cruise, Docklands-themed cocktails and a four-course networking dinner;

A business listing on our website – http://www.docklandscc.com.au – which ranks on the front page of Google for basically all search terms related to Docklands;

A minimum spend on social media advertising equal to your membership investment primarily through our Facebook profile with 114k followers;

First-in / first-served sponsored tickets to external events;

Approved posting and advertising through our newsletter;

Access to our invite-only Docklands stakeholder forums where the movers and shakers of Melbourne share the latest information about upcoming events and activations; and

Our members include the largest business in the Docklands precinct such as the AFL, Harbour Town and The Atlantic Group but we also have a multitude of sole traders.

Our three purposes are to promote Docklands, promote our member businesses and advocate on behalf of the precinct.

We think we do it really well but we’d invite you to ask any questions you might have.

Our executive committee, executive officer and media director are all available to be reached at any time.
